Wasabi seedlings
Wasabi has grown wild in the mountains of Japan since ancient times, and has been used both as a medicine and a condiment. It can be grown in small quantities using streams and water channels (water-grown or sawa wasabi), and also in fields (soil-grown or oka wasabi).
